This might be for you if…
-
You overthink or second-guess yourself
-
You feel anxious, low, or unsure how to shift how you’re feeling
-
You tend to prioritise others, but feel disconnected from yourself
-
You find certain patterns repeating in relationships or feel stuck in difficult dynamics
-
You’re struggling with habits or behaviours you’d like to change, including around alcohol or other dependencies
-
You notice patterns of codependency, people-pleasing, or difficulty setting boundaries
-
You’re navigating questions around identity—whether that’s gender, sexuality, or feeling different in how you think, feel, or experience the world
-
You feel “fine” on the surface, but something doesn’t quite feel right underneath
If any of this resonates, therapy can offer a space to pause, reflect, and begin to understand things differently.
I work with adults experiencing difficulties with confidence and self-esteem, often alongside anxiety, depression, bereavement and loss, stress, anger, eating difficulties, and trauma or PTSD.
I also have extensive experience supporting people with relationship difficulties, patterns of codependency*, and addictions, including within 12-step recovery contexts.
*Codependency refers to becoming overly focused on others’ needs at the expense of your own wellbeing, often linking self-worth to others’ approval.
How I work
I’m an integrative therapist, which means I draw on different approaches depending on what feels most helpful for you.
Rather than applying a fixed method, we’ll work in a way that fits you—your experiences, your pace, and what you want from therapy.
What therapy can offer
Therapy isn’t about being “fixed” or told what to do.
And it isn’t about removing all uncertainty.
It's about helping you feel more able to be with yourself and make sense of what's going on:
-
Understand yourself more clearly
-
Work through difficult thoughts and emotions
-
Feel more grounded and less overwhelmed
-
Make sense of past experiences and how they affect the present
-
Begin to feel more confident in yourself and your direction
Over time, many people find they feel more connected—to themselves, to others, and to the life they want to be living.
Many people find they build emotional resilience, strengthen self-trust and confidence, and experience a deeper sense of connection and wellbeing.

About me
I’m Joel Bild, an integrative therapist, MBACP (Accred), working with adults (18+).
I’ve spent over 25 years working in education and training, supporting people to grow, learn and develop. That same commitment underpins my therapy work today.
My style is relaxed, warm and collaborative. I aim to offer a space where you can speak openly, feel heard, and explore what matters to you at a pace that feels safe.
Clients often tell me they feel able to settle quickly, speak openly, and begin to see things from a different perspective. My role isn’t to “fix” you, but to support you in making sense of your experience and finding your own way forward.
Alongside my therapy work, I also support therapists through the Confident Therapist Hub™, focused on reflective practice and professional development.
Empathy, honesty and respect are at the heart of my work. There’s no one-size-fits-all approach — we’ll work together to find what feels most helpful for you.
What to expect
Starting therapy can feel like a big step, so I aim to keep the process simple and clear.
1. Free 20-minute chat
A chance to talk through what’s bringing you to therapy and see if it feels like a good fit.
2. First session
We explore what’s going on in more depth and what you’d like from therapy.
3. Ongoing sessions
We meet regularly (usually weekly to begin with), creating space to explore things at your pace.
Taking the next step
If you’re considering therapy, you’re welcome to get in touch.
You don’t need to have everything figured out—just a sense that something might need attention.
